Ron Eaton, a keen supporter of the Ashtead Residents' Association has died aged 98. He passed away very peacefully at home on Sunday 19th January.

Ron was, during his time with the Association, Editor of The Ashtead Resident magazine. Ron's son, Richard even bought him a green eye shade so he looked the part!

Ron was also the Association's spokesman and resident expert for the railway. Even after he retired from the ARA he continued to interested in anything to do with the railway including the many crossings in Ashtead and new rolling stock coming on line.

Richard says "We are all sad but we also have to remember that he had a good life and was able to live to an amazing age."
