Public toilets at the APMH Car Park - Update 4th February 2025

Refurbishment still delayed by weather

Mole Valley Council regrets to inform residents that the toilet refurbishment has not yet been completed and have issued a further update on the refurbishment works.

MVDC apologises for the disappointing news of further delays. The reason remains the same – the slow product curing times delaying each following task and therefore final fixtures/ fittings cannot be reinstated

 Facility is now scheduled to open as follows:

Accessible toilet Wednesday 5th February;

Mens toilet  - Saturday 8th February;

Ladies toilet – Tuesday 11th February ( with exception of the second cubicle. Cubicle delivery is estimated on 24th February, the contractor is engaging with the manufacturer to bring this forward).

Finally, the solar paint to the roof will be done when the outside temperatures increase to circa 15 degrees Celsius, this is relating to specific product curing times and conditions. MVDC will make sure this happens as soon as temperature rises to the required level. and will be delayed for approximately 10 days. Unfortunately, due to low outside temperatures some of the building material curing times has caused a delay to complete the refurbishment on time. The Council has been advised by the contractor that the flooring surface will be applied on Monday and will require 4 to 5 days to cure.  Once the floor is complete, sanitary ware and any other fittings can be installed.

Current target is to reopen the toilets on Wednesday the 5th of February, however this can only be confirmed once the flooring material has cured. With increased outside temperatures next week, it is hoped that the completion can be brought forward.

The Council apologises for the inconvenience this may cause.
