Dorking yes - Leatherhead going to appeal.
A temporary banking hub is now operating from Mole Valley Council's Pippbrook Offices. This temporary hub will be accessible to customers of a number of banks during the working week, from 9am to 5pm. The search for a permanent home in the town is ongoing and is being led by Cash UK.
For details of opening hours and services on offer go to https://www.cashaccess.co.uk/hubs/dorking-surrey/
We are told that the Lloyds representative will be available on Friday from 5th May.
The Council have appealed LINK’s decision not to recommend a Banking Hub for Leatherhead. The appeal highlights errors in population data and retail data omissions, which undermine the assessment’s reliability and fail to reflect Leatherhead’s needs. They have urged LINK to re-evaluate its findings and address these inconsistencies, as they strongly believe Leatherhead should also be eligible for a Banking Hub. MVDC added this further comment:-
"While we continue to push for a banking hub in Leatherhead, it has been confirmed by CASH UK that a new, multi-bank deposit machine providing cash and deposit services in the town is now available, located at 12 North Street, Leatherhead, KT22 7AW."
