Residents are being urged to take an active role in shaping plans to restore and enhance the natural environment across the county.
As Surrey Nature Recovery begins to form its Local Nature Recovery Strategy (LNRS), the team have announced the ways that members of the community can get involved in the early stage of the plan’s creation.
A wide range of organisations and community groups are being invited to help shape a greener future for Surrey. There are a number of ways that everyone can get involved:
Take the survey: Whether a farmer or landowner, a wildlife enthusiast, organisation or resident, the survey is open to everyone who has a connection to Surrey and an interest in helping preserve the county’s rich diversity.
Join a workshop: A series of round table events are being held throughout June and July. The events are designed to inspire in-depth conversation about nature recovery amongst representatives a wide variety of community groups.
Attend an event: subscribe to receive news updates and be the first to find out about more upcoming events where you can meet the team creating the LNRS and have your say in person.
The LNRS led by Surrey County Council, aims to restore, and enhance nature across the county. Surrey is one of 48 local authorities nationwide given responsibility for this work by DEFRA, addressing the current nature crisis in England, funded by UK Government.
