Gerry Sevenoaks was re-elected as Councillor for Ashtead Park Ward polling 1,098 votes compared to the combined polling of all other candidates  of 961 votes.

Andy Smith, who was standing in the Ashtead Lanes & Common Ward for the retiring David Hawksworth also polled 1,437 votes compared to the combined polling of all other candidates of 1,003 votes.

Both Ashtead Independents candidates received overwhelming endorsement from residents of Ashtead.

The turnout was disappointing low for both seats at 38.2% and 41.1% respectively.

Overall control of the Council remains with the Liberal Democrat party, but let's hope they recognise the strong support Ashtead Independent Councillors have in Ashtead.
