Community Resiliance and Reassurance

Dear all

I just wanted to give a quick update on some activity that we will be beginning from Monday:

Given the closure of the Fairfield Centre, staff will be beginning reassurance calls to the members of the centre to ensure they are keeping well and that they have support. We will also be doing this for members of our community transport service.

We are assisting the County effort to staff a helpline which has been set up for anyone wishing to volunteer in their communities or anyone who is vulnerable and needs help with shopping, prescription collection etc. We are working with Central Surrey Voluntary Action to do this. From Monday morning we will be taking the calls (this will be a separate small team, not the existing Customer Service Unit) from those asking for assistance and signposting them to organisations and groups within their communities. Any new organisations are being vetted by CSVA before we will recommend them.

The link takes you to the County page – we will be advertising the number on our website and through social media. We are also looking to assist the communication of this message via other means.

Things are moving quickly, I will keep you updated as regularly as possible.
