Swan Centre Refurbishment - Works Update

In the first week in September work will begin on the first of three phases of refurbishment to the Swan Shopping Centre, Leatherhead as part of Transform Leatherhead. See accompanying Frequently Asked Questions.

Phase 1
This first phase will see the refurbishment of the public toilets and provision of new baby changing facilities, and begin works to make the car park more user-friendly.

Timeline
1st week Sept 2018 – late Oct 2018
• Toilets will be closed as work begins. Alternative ladies, gents and disabled toilets will be available in Sainsbury’s and baby changing facilities in Boots.
• Works will take place on Levels 1- 4 of the car park to make it more user-friendly. The car park will remain open and operational and there will be Traffic Marshalls to direct users.

Between November and January there will be no further work to ensure there is minimal impact on the Christmas trading period.

Phase 2
The second phase will see the completion of the car park improvement works and replacement of the lifts.

Timeline
Mid Jan 2019 – late Feb 2019: Car park works will be completed on levels 5-6.
Mid Jan 2019 – early Apr 2019: One passenger lift and one goods lift will be replaced.
Mid Apr 2019 – end of May 2019: The second passenger lift and second goods lift will be replaced.

Phase 3
Late May 2019 – early Jul 2019: The stairwell will be reconfigured and will be out of operation. The new lifts will, however be operational.
Late May 2019 – Aug 2019: A new retail unit will be created within the existing stair well area opposite the lifts.
