Rookery Hill to be closed for bridge works

D2337 Rookery Hill, Ashtead - Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2020

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D2337 Rookery Hill, Ashtead that extends from its junction with D2628 Park Lane to its junction with Park Drive. This Temporary Traffic Order is required to enable repairs to Rookery Hill Bridge and to the stone column on entry to the road and/or highway maintenance and/or carriageway resurfacing works on behalf of Surrey County Council.

These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7am and 7pm within 10 days of the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Traffic Order which commences on 21 October 2020. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, pedestrians and; dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained via the vehicular diversion route which will be Farm Lane and Park Lane. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle's owner.
