The Dorking Camera Club exhibition will be making its online debut this December, running from Monday 14th to Sunday 20th December 2020. The free exhibition brings together stunning photographs from Dorking Camera Club members, showcasing their work capturing beautiful scenery from the local area as well as photography from locations further afield.
In its 65th year, the Dorking Camera Club will display beautiful and memorable imagery online from amateur photographers who live in the Ashtead and Dorking area.
Bob Ede, Dorking Camera Club’s Chairman said: “Due to the current circumstances we have had to adapt, so this year we will present the exhibition online. The event is always a highlight in the club’s calendar so we’re really pleased to be able to keep it in the diary, especially when there’s been so many cancellations for other things this year.
“It’s a stunning display which includes photographs shot locally. We’re proud to present our work to the local community. We really welcome as many online visitors as possible; they’ll be able to enjoy viewing the images in a Covid-19 safe way.”
Visit the exhibition at the dedicated website: www.dorkingcameraclubexhibition.club – please note there is a holding banner on the website until the launch date.

Free Christmas Parking All Day Weekends in December - 5/6th, 12th/13th & 19th/20th December
Shopping local for your Christmas gifts is easier than ever this year with all of Mole Valley District Council’s car parks free of charge on three festive weekends in December. A great incentive to support your local retailers and hospitality venues, linger a little longer and even meet friends to enjoy everything our towns and villages have to offer.*
Every Mole Valley car park will be free of charge all day Saturday and Sunday on the dates specified. Sundays are free in the car parks year-round. The 43, ‘free for 30 minutes’ parking bays remain available at all other times and in Dorking the weekend starts early, as Dorking Town Partnership is funding ‘Free After Three’ parking on a Friday after 3pm.**
Parking machines in the car parks will be well signed to show the free parking dates and retailers will be reminded to tell customers too, but we are not able to turn the parking machines off. Any money inserted, or RingGo fees paid will be donated to the Chairman’s three charities, the Leatherhead Youth Project , Belong and PSDS.
Councillor Clayton Wellman, Cabinet Member for Sustainable Economy said, “We all know what a tough year it has been for our high streets and rural businesses. Let’s support them this Christmas by making an enormous effort to shop and eat out locally. Let’s choose gifts inside our local shops, support our local restaurants and cafes and all those businesses who have supported us through the pandemic. They have made such a huge effort to make their premises Covid safe and welcoming for everyone.
“Parking charges in Mole Valley’s car parks remains very reasonable compared to many nearby shopping destinations and we have so many interesting shops to discover across the district. We are retaining our policy of providing free parking to all key workers in our car parks. We hope many residents and visitors will come and spend time in Mole Valley on these festive weekends.”
